Mengajar Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) di Era Artificial Intelligence (AI)
Keywords:
Artificial Intelligence, Islamic Religious Education, Teaching Methods, Digital Ethics, PAI Teacher, Islamic EpistemologyAbstract
The rapid advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has brought about significant disruption in the realm of education, including the teaching of Islamic Religious Education (PAI). This article aims to explore the theological, epistemological, and methodological challenges, as well as the opportunities for reconstructing PAI instruction in the era of artificial intelligence. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach based on a literature review, the study examines how AI technologies—such as Large Language Models (LLMs)—can be integrated without eroding the essence of spiritual values and noble character (*akhlaq karimah*). The findings indicate that AI holds great potential as a cognitive assistant capable of personalizing the study of religious texts. However, AI cannot replace the transformative role of the PAI teacher regarding *tasyri’* (legal-ethical guidance), *tazkiyah al-nafs* (purification of the soul), and the provision of a role model (*uswah hasanah*). Consequently, there is a need for curriculum adaptation, a methodological shift from mere knowledge transfer to value transformation, and the enhancement of religious digital literacy among educators to cultivate a generation that is not only technologically proficient but also spiritually and emotionally grounded.References
